This weekend marks the first Sunday of Advent, celebrated by many Christians around the world as the official start to the Christmas season.
For some, this simply means permission to start adding Christmas songs and hymns to the Sunday service or home playlist. For others, it's part of a long liturgical tradition dating back centuries.
Whatever your relationship to Advent, Pastor Robin Ham suggests this may be the year to engage the time-honoured practice, which he calls "an opportunity to face up to the darkness in order to appreciate the light."
