The United States' largest Protestant denomination meets this week, and its outgoing president says you never know what might come up.

More than 8,000 local church delegates will attend the Southern Baptist Convention in Anaheim this week, with a number of big and controversial subjects likely to be discussed. Among them would be the election of a new SBC president, a path forward on recent recommendations around abuse in the church, and potential breaking of ties with Saddleback Church after its appointment of several women to pastoral roles.
