Truth Matters plans nine-stop Canadian tour

A B.C.-based ministry is aiming to distribute one million Bibles around the world by December 2013 and enrich the lives of Canadian Christians in the process.

WorldServe Ministries Canada is committed to sending Bibles to the Middle East, Asia, Cuba and Ethiopia. As the ministry asks Canadians for donations, it also wants to bless them with the Truth Matters tour—an evening of speakers and worship.

The nine-date tour includes stops in Winnipeg (April 19), Ottawa (April 13), Cambridge (April 15) and Toronto (April 16). Other cities include Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria.

"The whole question of truth and absolute truth is a critical issue in churches today, so we thought if we could find speakers who could address that issue … we'd be performing a service for Canadian churches," says Stephen Wile, president of WorldServe Canada.

"But we'd also then take the next step and say, if you're convinced that the truth of God's Word is important for living today, then we want to encourage you to get involved in distributing that truth around the world."

Each stop on the tour features a talk by Sean McDowell, who is the co-author of a number of books.

"We started to do some research around who would be some of the leading advocates for truth and be able to communicate clearly absolute truth in a relative world, and we came up with [McDowell]," Wile says.

Musicians Phil Wickham and Paul Baloche will lead worship. The latter is an award winning singer-songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists like Michael W. Smith.

"I think it's going to be a very uplifting experience not just getting the message out, but as the body of Christ comes together and worships together," Wile says.

Tickets for the event are $15 until April 18 at www.itickets.com and $20 on the day of the event. Visit truthmatterstour.com.
