Tomb of St. Nicholas, man who inspired Santa, believed to be found

New technology has allowed archaeologists in Turkey to find what they believe to be the tomb of the legendary St. Nicholas.

The tomb was thought to have been stolen nearly a thousand years ago, but modern ground scanning techniques have showed promising evidence that the tomb is intact, sitting under the church where St Nicholas died in 343 A.D. The church itself was submerged under the rising Mediterranean sea and a new church was built on top of it, adding layers of difficulty to the find.
