At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, legal prostitution in Amsterdam's infamous Red Light District came to a temporary halt. And for one American family, this presented an opportunity to begin a well-timed ministry to the out-of-work women in the district.

In this piece for The Gospel Coalition, Lauren Ray tells the story of how she came from Memphis Tennessee to Amsterdam with her family, and describes the timely work she has been able to do in supporting struggling sex workers to find new careers and new hope in the midst of a global pandemic.
