Find the Way with Mike Sherbino

Mike's Minute on finding direction

I am so grateful for Roger Easton. He is the man who spearheaded the creation of the satellite system that lets us know where on earth we are. We know it now as the GPS.

Easton has spared me significant embarrassment from the times when I would have been forced to stop and ask for directions or the humiliation of hearing my wife say, “I told you it was the other way!”

Many times we wish that knowing God’s will was as simple as plugging in coordinates and looking for a readout that would tell us to turn left or turn right.

What I do know about hearing God’s voice and finding direction is linked in a repeating theme that we find through the scriptures. Statements like, “Stand still and see the deliverance of the Lord,” "Be still and know that I am God," and “If you lack wisdom …ask God …who gives generously.”

Before plunging into your next major decision may I suggest the following statements - Stand still, be still, ask God for wisdom, and as you make your decisions remember the word; “Immanuel” - which means ‘God with us.’

He is with you!
