A spree of fake miracles, offered by Pentecostal preachers in exchange for cash through scams that included widespread robo-calls, triggered calls for oversight of Pentecostal churches and preachers. However, government leaders in the secular country have been conflicted on whether and how to limit the freedom of the church in Kenya.
