As people across Canada observe the 2nd annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, many churches, Christian organizations and individuals are examining their roles in reconciliation with Indigenous people.

The purpose of "TRC Day" is to honour the survivors of residential schools in Canada, along with their families, communities, and those who never returned home. In an interview with Christian Courier, residential school survivor Lisa Raven talks about her faith, her relationship to the Catholic church, and her experience travelling to Rome and The Vatican as part of the Canadian Indigenous delegation there this year - where she says the real reconciliation was in the time spent sharing food, drink, culture and conversation.
