Christian charity say COP27 shows ‘no real signs of progress’

A Christian charity is calling COP27 a "misspent fortnight" after the two-week climate conference resulted in a lack of substantial commitments.

A policy advisor for Tearfund, which supports people in the world's 50 poorest countries, called out the conference and its delegates for their "small steps, when what we need are giant leaps." The conference wrapped up Friday in Egypt. The Tearfund spokesperson also noted the stark reality of the conference happening on African soil, while many African nations are quickly becoming some of the most vulnerable to the early effects of climate change.
