EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Today in BC, seniors outnumber children, a trend that will only accelerate in the decades to come. Tabor Village is looking to the future and embarking on strategies to meet the needs and demands of senior care, from independent living, to assisted living, to complex care. To that end, Tabor Village seeks an Executive Director with a passion and drive to be an innovative leader in senior health care.

OUR STORY

Tabor Village, a faith based not for profit, founded in Abbotsford, BC by members of Mennonite Brethren churches in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley has been caring for seniors for nearly 60 years. With over 400 employees and staff, Tabor Village is dedicated to helping seniors live life to the fullest by being committed to their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Director (“ED”) reports directly to the Tabor Home Society Board of Directors and is responsible for developing and implementing the policies and directives of the Board of Directors to ensure the spiritual mission of Tabor is carried out in addition to meeting all legislative and regulatory requirements.

A supporter of the "small household model of care," the ED is responsible for the effective operational management of the campus by ensuring that a high standard of care is maintained for the residents by competent managers and staff. The ED develops and maintains a good working relationship with the Fraser Health Authority and professional contacts with relative organizations, agencies, government departments, and our eleven Mennonite Brethren participating congregations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s or equivalent in healthcare and/or business administration.
  • Qualifications for membership in the Canadian College of Health Leaders preferred.
  • 10+ years recent related experience in a senior executive position preferable and healthcare or

    the equivalent combination of education and business administration experience.

  • Agreement with the values of Tabor Home Society and its Board of Directors.
