POSITION OVERVIEW

Subject to budgetary approval, Providence invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in business administration at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, either in OB/HR & Marketing area or Accounting Finance & Quantitative area, beginning July 1, 2022.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

The following are the qualifications of a successful candidate:

OB/HR & Marketing area

o Possesses either a doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) in Business Administration (OB/HR/Management or Marketing, or related field) from a recognized post-secondary institution (ABDs will be considered); Or, alternatively, a combination of a Master’s degree in business with relevant and substantial professional industry experience

o Having a suitable professional designation (for instance, Certified Human Resources Professional – CHRP, or Certified Marketing Professional – CMP, etc.) will be an advantage

o Must be willing and able to teach a wide range of undergraduate OB/HR and marketing courses such as:

o Organizational Behaviour
o BusinessCommunication
o HumanResourcesManagement
o FundamentalsofMarketing
o ConsumerBehaviour

o A special topics course either in management or marketing

Accounting, Finance & Quantitative area

o Possesses either a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Business Administration
(Finance, Accounting, or related field) from a recognized post-secondary institution (ABDs will be considered); Or, alternatively, a combination of a Master’s degree in business with relevant and substantial professional industry experience

o Having a suitable professional designation (for instance, Certified Chartered Professional Accountant - CPA, or Chartered Financial Analyst – CFA, etc.) will be an advantage

o Must be willing and able to teach a wide range of undergraduate Finance, Accounting and quantitative courses such as:

General

o Introduction to Financial Accounting
o Finance
o Intro to Managerial Accounting
o Introduction to Management Science
o Operations
o Management Information Systems
o Computer Usage

o Previous teaching experience will be an advantage
o Must have some record of professional industry experience
o Must have a desire and potential to be a mentor and advisor to students and engage them in

extracurricular and co-curricular programs and activities
o Show promise of scholarly achievement. Previous publications will be an advantage
o Possess an ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and the external stakeholder community

in a collegial and collaborative spirit
o Commit to integrating business education and practice with the Christian faith
