Candlelight Vigil

Stories We're Following: From Kate Bowler

Kate Bowler, Winnipeg native, is holding a candlelight vigil on Sunday in honor of All Saints' Day on Instagram Live. From Kate Bowler:

The pandemic has stripped us of so many of the rituals that give life joy and meaning. It has stripped us of comfort in community when we need it most. We cannot sit bedside or hold people’s hands as they weep or attend funerals—those grounding practices that help us collectively mourn. But the liturgical calendar makes room for us to remember those we have lost.

This Sunday, November 1st is All Saints' Day. Join Rev. Nadia Bolz-Weber and me on Sunday, November 1st at 8PM Eastern (5PM Pacific) on Instagram Live.

We are holding our own candlelit vigil to honor those in this community we have lost. And if you are grieving someone you love, bless you. Add their name as a comment on this so we can remember them with you during the reading of the names on Sunday. @sarcasticlutheran
