Antique Bible Miraculously Endures Fire Which Destroys Historic Church
An elder from a Mississippi church destroyed by fire earlier this month says nothing survived but the word of God.
College Hill Presbyterian Church, built in 1844, was gutted in a fire that miraculously left just one historic item intact: a Bible which has been in the church since its founding. Normally left open on the pulpit at all times, someone had closed the bible just hours before the blaze, leaving it untouched while the church's wooden pews, stained glass windows and other historic items were destroyed.
