A year after withdrawal, Afghanistan Christians are in hiding or on the run

August 30th of this year marked one year since the U.S. officially and completely withdrew from a 20-year military presence in Afghanistan, and experts say the country's Christians have it worse than ever.

According to the Taliban, who have quickly regained control of Afghanistan, the country has no Christians; however, experts put the number at between 10 and 12 thousand, all of whom must hide their faith or risk death. As of this year, Open Doors USA has moved Afghanistan to the number one spot for places where it's most dangerous to be a Christian, ousting North Korea which held the top position for two decades.
