Rick Warren’s last sermon at Saddleback was also his first

Megachurch pastor Rick Warren preached his final sermon last weekend at Saddleback, revisiting the first-ever sermon delivered at the church he founded with his wife more than 40 years ago.

In the sermon, first delivered on Easter Sunday 1980, Warren told the congregation to "let the size of your God determine the size of your goal," pledging the next 40 years of his life to ministry and sharing his vision to welcome 20,000 members to the brand-new church. In June of this year, Warren announced his successor Andy Wood, who will take over the role at Saddleback - California's largest church - ministering to 24,000 people each Sunday.
