Trinity Western resolves human rights complaint
LANGLEY, BC—A harassment complaint filed with the province’s human rights tribunal against Trinity Western University (TWU) president Neil Snider has been settled.

His accuser, a former employee of the university, agreed to withdraw her complaint after receiving an apology from Snider and a commitment from the university to improve its policies and procedures in handling such cases. read more>

Christian home for female addicts opens in New Brunswick

FREDERICTON, NB—Samaria House, a Christian transition residence for female ex-offenders and addicts, opened its doors October 1. It is the only facility of its kind in Atlantic Canada.

Director Olive Raymond first recognized the need for this kind of home during her nine years in Christian prison chaplaincy with Bridges of Canada. A drug abuser before she became a Christian, Raymond says she was surprised when God called her to meet the need.


Inter-Varsity celebrates four decades of French ministry

ST-LAURENT, QC—Supporters of Groupes Bibliques Universitaires (GBU), many of them former staff and students, gathered in late October to celebrate 40 years of ministry for the French Quebec wing of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF).

The evening included testimonials from former students. GBU director Marc Débanné read letters from former GBU members now making positive contributions in various mission fields and professions. Many credited their success to leadership opportunities they received during their time with GBU.
