Same-sex marriage opponents discouraged but not defeated
OTTAWA, ONDefenders of traditional marriage have vowed to elect a pro-family Parliament next time voters go to the polls, so that the historic vote June 28 legalizing same-sex marriage can be overturned.
In the meantime, religious leaders say they will continue to treat marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

Yonge Street Mission unveils scholarship fund
TORONTO, ONYonge Street Mission (YSM), the 100-year-old not-for-profit Christian organization that serves the needs of Toronto’s poorest residents, unveiled an educational scholarship program for post-secondary students last month.
According to YSM’s website, the fund was set in motion with a $1 million gift from Toronto businessman John Watson. The endowment fund was announced by mission managing director David Adcock during a ceremony that included a cheque presentation June 18.get the full story>
Christian heritage day coming to Ontario

TORONTO, ONAt a time when more and more Christians are feeling isolated and scorned for their beliefs by secular institutions, an agency of the government of Ontario will host a “provincial Christian heritage day” next month. Ontario Place, a cultural, leisure and entertainment park owned and operated by the province, plans to throw open its gates to a daylong celebration of the Christian faith called Encounter Ontario.
