HARRISON HOT SPRINGS, BCLongtime
prayer activist and Watchmen for the Nation founder
Robert H. Birch, 91, passed his leadership mantle to
David M. Demian of Vancouver at a November 12 prayer
"gathering."
About 600 people from across Canada and
a number from other countries came to the B.C. resort for
a "solemn assembly" in the spirit of Joel 2:15.
Organizers were calling for people to "weep before
the porch and the altar on behalf of our nation."
Repentance for things past was much in
evidence as the founding peoples of CanadaNatives,
English and Frenchwere each acknowledged. As well,
Christian Chinese and formerly-Sikh attendees confessed
with regret that their ancestors had brought other gods
onto Canadian soil.
Demian highlighted the need for
national repentance in Canada to Jews because of this
countrys "shameful record of injustice"
toward them. He intertwined the Israeli and Canadian
flags and paraded them across the platform.
"We are on the verge of a crucial
time which will test our nation," says Demian.
"My commission at this time is, first, to alert the
church to [our record against the Jews], and, second, to
call intercessors to lay hold of God."
