Canadian Southern
Baptists elect new leader
Convention
honors retiring executive, adds churches
From a
release
KELOWNA, BCFor only the
second time in their 13-year history as a convention,
Canadian Southern Baptists have elected a new national
leader. Also at their annual meeting, May 26 through 28,
they honored their retiring executive and welcomed 11 new
churches.
Gerry Taillon was elected national
ministry leader at the May 26 session. "I accept
this challenge based on two realities," Taillon said
following the announcement of his election. "First,
ultimately the leader of the Canadian Convention of
Southern Baptists is Jesus Christ. Secondly, I lead a
team of leaders, of which God has given us some of the
best."
