TORONTOIn
a fitting gesture coinciding with the official renaming
of Ontario Bible College/Ontario Theological Seminary to
Tyndale College and Seminary, the oldest and largest
theological educational institution in Canada has
appointed Tony Tyndale as its new chancellor.
"Gods
gift of a new name for our school is now further enhanced
by the appointment of Tony Tyndale as
chancellor-elect," said president Brian C. Stiller
at a recent name-launching ceremony.
The name Tyndale
was chosen for the school in honor of William Tyndale,
the 16th century pioneer of the
English Bible who was martyred. Vere Stafford Carrington

Williams elder brother Edward.
Tony Tyndale was
born in London, completing graduate studies at Oxford and
Cambridge and post-graduate work at the University of
Toronto. Following 12 years in the British army, he spent
24 years in ministry with Inter-Varsity Christian
Fellowship of Canada, serving as teacher, mentor and
