Clergy housing deduction cases to be heard

MISSISSAUGA, ON--A total of 72 cases relating to the clergy residence deduction provisions of the Income Tax Act will be heard in the Tax Court of Canada between May and October of 1998, says charities tax specialist Ron Knechtel.

Knechtel’s presentation was part of his legislative update, a regular feature at the Canadian Council of Christian Charities (CCCC) conference held late last month in Mississauga. The annual event draws executive, financial and development officers from dozens of evangelical denominations and parachurch organizations across Canada.
