Two months ago, Fellowship for Print Witness (ChristianWeek and ChristianCurrent) sent out an appeal letter for donations. We are in ongoing discussions with another solid community publisher, with purpose of melding our organizations to create a stronger national Christian voice for Canadian media. But, part of the agreement requires that Fellowship for Print Witness improve its balance sheeta daunting task.
Several thousand letters went out, following a day-long project of folding, stuffing and sealing by any and all FPW staff who happened to be in the office that day.
And we prayed. We prayed bigfor FPW to receive the necessary funds to get on with the business of blanketing the country with newspapers telling the story of Christian faith and life in Canada.
At first, the response seemed slow as the replies started to trickle in. We were immensely thankful for all of them, but the amount we prayed for still seemed unreachable. We kept praying.
A little more than one month later, we realized that the most amazing thing had happened.
God provided us with almost the exact amount we prayed fornot just in cash donations, but in other ways and means that resulted in enough capital to clear our books and leave FPW solvent.
God is faithful. He knew what we needed and He provided.
We do not take this blessing lightly. We are now charged with the task of not only remaining financially healthy, but also of carrying out our commitment to producing high quality Christian newspapers. With His continued guidance, that’s exactly what we aim to do.
But we still need your help to realize this vision. We covet your continued prayers and financial support as we endeavour to establish a strong voice that articulates issues of national interest from a Christian perspective.
