Love-Global offers contestants a chance to visit their sponsored missionary

VANCOUVER, BC—Canadians donating to missions have the chance to win a unique opportunity to visit their sponsored missionary through an online contest.

LoveGlobal's "Win a Trip to Meet Your Missionary Contest" closes on January 15. Contestants can register for the contest at MissionsContest.com, with winners to be chosen in three categories: Most money raised for a missionary; most creative way to raise any amount of funds; and most people signed up as LoveGlobal supporters.

The contest is open to anyone who registers online at LoveGlobal.com and commits to raising funds and/or awareness for a missionary registered on the LoveGlobal site. Winners will be awarded a free round-trip flight to wherever the missionary they support serves.

At the end of November, roughly 50 people from across Canada had already registered for the contest.

"It's pretty exciting," says Darian Kovacs, executive director for LoveGlobal. "We're just overwhelmed with people getting excited about a new way of fundraising and a new way of getting involved in charity."

LoveGlobal is a non-denominational Christian organization that provides a free online platform for missionaries and their champions to easily share stories through text, photos and videos.

Kovacs says he hopes people who participate in the contest will get excited about what missionaries are doing all around the world.

"I think it's exciting for the missionaries who are doing the work, too," he says. "They realize people here [in Canada] can become advocates on their behalf, and it can be a fun and exciting thing for people."
