EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Introduction:

Established in November, 1982, Fellowship Towers (FT) has a 30 year history of providing quality accommodation and care for seniors. FT provides subsidized accommodation for seniors and is an accredited member of the Ontario Residential Care Association. FT provides a Heart and Home for seniors in the Heart of Toronto. This location creates ease of access for the friends and relations of 220 residents, while creating infinite opportunities for the active senior.

Mission Statement:

The purpose of FT is to honour the Lord in providing excellence in the care for seniors. The accommodation will be comfortable and well maintained. Those who serve the residents will be knowledgeable in caring for the needs of older adults as a whole person. Particular attention will be given to caring for the spiritual needs of each resident where appropriate.

Purpose:

To ensure that FT manages through clear, measurable criteria in order to thrive and fulfill its mission through the planning, organizing and direction of the effective and efficient day to day operation.

Reporting to:

Chair, Board of Directors

Direct Reports:

Activities Coordinator, Chaplain, Controller, Dietary Manager, Marketing Coordinator, Nursing Manager, Office Manager, Property Manager, and Resident Accommodation and Services Coordinator

Internal Relationships:

Regular and frequent with senior staff; regular with other staff; regular with residents; infrequent with volunteers; regular and frequent with members of the Board and particularly with the Chair of the Board.

External Relationships:

Regular with senior management of other seniors' facilities, professional associations, city and provincial government officials, consultants, major suppliers or contractors, church community; infrequent with the business community.

Highlights:

Including all the aspects discussed above the position is a full managerial responsibility, accountable to ensure that every aspect of the residence is operated with equal care. The individual needs to bring to every aspect of the position a Christian awareness and leadership capacity that encourages people to live up to their God given abilities recognizing their gifts and their weaknesses. The management of areas such as planning and financial management bear the same significance as health and pastoral care while all departments work together to create a model that develops maximum capacity of the facility, and optimal confidence of the seniors and their families.

Qualifications:

The ability to provide Christian faith based team leadership across the organization; Demonstrated skills in and knowledge of managing services for seniors; Knowledge of senior's housing is an asset; Experience in working with a not-for-profit Board of Directors would be beneficial; Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated skills in holistic residential management is a focused interest; Specialized training in gerontology an asset.

Bookkeeper

Indigenous Pathways (My People International, NAIITS and iEmergence) is looking for a part time bookkeeper.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum grade 12 Diploma and at least 1 year of working experience.

A very good knowledge of and experience with Intuit's Quickbooks is preferred but good experience with another accounting package will be considered.

Approximately 4-5 hours a week is needed to handle financial entries, bank reconciliations, payroll input and monthly reports.
